An impressive antique commode of particularly elegant proportions, distinguished by its beautifully executed marquetry and highly decorative veneered surfaces.

We guarantee the absolute authenticity of all our pieces. Each item in our collection is rigorously vetted by our experts for historical accuracy, period-correct materials, and traditional craftsmanship.
The top features an elaborate, flowing marquetry composition with finely figured elm (Rüster) inlays, creating a rich and lively decorative effect. The front is fitted with three drawers with characteristic double-kinked, shaped drawer fronts, giving the commode a particularly refined and architectural appearance.
The original metal fittings have been carefully preserved, as have the original box locks. Three keys are included. The side panels are equally well considered, each decorated with a large framed veneered field, demonstrating the quality of craftsmanship throughout the entire piece.
The case rests on elegant ball feet, completing the harmonious and well-balanced silhouette.
The commode has been carefully restored in our workshop with particular attention to preserving its authentic character and naturally developed patina. The surfaces have been traditionally finished and hand-polished with shellac, enhancing the depth, warmth and beautiful figuring of the veneers without giving the piece an overly restored appearance.
