Description

An exceptional late 19th-century Historicist sideboard, inspired by Renaissance architectural forms and showcasing outstanding cabinetmaking craftsmanship. The cabinet combines elegant proportions with richly figured walnut veneers and beautifully executed decorative carved panels, creating a refined yet imposing presence.

The warm walnut veneers are arranged in striking book-matched and geometric patterns, emphasizing the natural beauty of the timber. The carved ornamental panels provide a pleasing contrast in texture and color, while the turned columns, molded cornices, and architectural details reflect the influence of the Neo-Renaissance style.

The upper section features a central open display compartment with an elegant balustrade above a small leaded-glass cabinet, flanked by two enclosed cupboards. Below, the generous serving surface is supported by a practical base with two drawers and a spacious double-door cabinet offering ample storage.

Original brass hardware complements the cabinet beautifully, while the overall design balances decorative richness with practical functionality.

Professionally restored in our workshop using traditional conservation methods, the sideboard is presented in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use.
