An elegant French Empire stool, early 19th century, in finely carved solid wood with classical detailing. The legs are shaped as fluted columns with stylised acanthus leaves on squared bases carved with Greek key motifs, joined by the curved crossed stretcher and central carved rosette that are hallmarks of the Empire style. Professionally restored and newly upholstered in a high-quality ivory fabric with a long, soft pile, with a hand-polished shellac finish. Usable as a stool, ottoman, or footrest.

An elegant and finely crafted stool from the French Empire period, dating to the early 19th century. The frame is made of solid wood likely mahogany or walnut and displays superb workmanship with classical decorative detailing. The legs are shaped as fluted columns, adorned with stylised acanthus leaves and resting on squared bases featuring carved Greek key motifs. The crossed stretcher, a hallmark of the Empire style, is composed of gracefully curved supports that meet in the centre with a carved rosette. The structure exudes harmony, strength, and neoclassical poise, drawing clear inspiration from ancient Roman design.
The seat has been professionally restored and newly upholstered in a high-quality ivory coloured fabric with a long, soft pile. This luxurious, plush texture lends a sense of understated opulence and tactile comfort. The perimeter of the seat is bordered with a decorative carved edge that echoes the rhythm and refinement of the frame below.
