Description

This beautiful antique chest of drawers is an Early Biedermeier piece from South Germany, dated around 1815. Made from solid cherrywood and retaining all its fine architectural details, it is a superb example of early 19th-century neoclassical elegance and top craftsmanship.

It stands on four splayed feet and has a warm cherry veneer that runs continuously across the three drawer fronts. Ebonized edges and base give a crisp contrast to the clean neoclassical lines of the piece. The drawers are flanked by finely carved gilded caryatid figures and ebonized pilasters, classic neoclassical motifs of strength and beauty.

Each drawer has a shield-shaped ebonized escutcheon and comes with its original brass key. Inside, the drawers are clean and well maintained with generous storage space, and the piece is fully intact.

It has been fully restored and hand-polished with shellac to preserve its original look and finish. Stable and ready for use, it works beautifully in a bedroom, hallway, or as a statement piece in a living area.
