A magnificent 18th-century German Baroque bureau chest, circa 1750, in premium walnut and walnut veneer with fine Bandelwerk marquetry. The slant-front desk opens to a fitted interior of drawers, a lockable central door, and a concealed latch mechanism, with seven drawers in all on sturdy stile feet. Carefully restored and hand-polished with shellac, in excellent condition and ready to use.

Exquisite 18th-Century Baroque Walnut Bureau Chest – Finely Inlaid & Hand-Polished 1750, Germany
This magnificent 18th-century Baroque bureau chest is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Made from premium walnut and fine walnut veneer, it showcases intricate marquetry detailing and a timelessly elegant brown finish. Measuring 113 cm wide, 105 cm high, and 63 cm deep, it offers ample storage space, with a total of seven drawers providing room for your valuables.
A genuine antique, this bureau chest adds a touch of history and exclusivity to any interior. Its Baroque design embodies the highest standards of quality and authenticity, making it a striking statement piece.
The slant-front writing desk is fitted with a box lock and can be securely closed. Inside, a concealed latch mechanism allows access to the drawer locking system. On either side, there are three drawers with brass pull handles, while the centre features a lockable door. Below the door, an additional drawer and a footrest complete the design.
The front is finely inlaid with Bandelwerk patterns, showcasing expert craftsmanship. This elegant bureau chest has been carefully restored and hand-polished with shellac, enhancing its natural beauty. The structure rests on sturdy stile feet, adding to its refined aesthetic.
