The hand-carved frame is richly sculpted with flowing acanthus leaves, shell motifs, and floral ornament in a dynamic asymmetrical composition, crowned by a shaped crest with an ornamental cartouche. The warm gilt finish retains a beautiful aged patina, in very good antique condition.

19th Century Giltwood Mirror, Baroque / Rococo Revival
Elegant and highly decorative 19th century wall mirror, set in a finely hand-carved giltwood frame. The frame displays a richly sculpted Rococo Revival design, with flowing acanthus leaves, shell motifs and floral ornamentation, all arranged in a dynamic, asymmetrical composition. The shaped crest with an ornamental cartouche enhances the mirror’s refined and architectural presence.
The warm gilt finish retains a beautiful aged patina, emphasising the craftsmanship and historical quality of the piece. This mirror would make a striking statement in a classic, eclectic or contemporary interior, suitable for a living room, bedroom or entrance hall.
