Description

A beautiful late 19th-century French Provincial farmhouse dining table, handcrafted from solid cherrywood and showcasing the timeless simplicity of rural French craftsmanship.

The table features a generously proportioned rectangular plank top with a warm honey-colored patina that has developed beautifully over decades of use. It stands on elegant turned legs connected by a sturdy apron, creating a refined yet understated silhouette. A practical single side drawer fitted with its original wooden knob adds everyday functionality while preserving the table’s authentic country character.

A particularly desirable feature is the pair of original pull-out extension leaves, each measuring approximately 60 cm (23.6 in). These extensions allow the table to be significantly enlarged, making it ideal for both everyday dining and larger family gatherings while maintaining its elegant proportions and original construction.

The richly figured cherrywood displays attractive natural grain and a mellow colour that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. Its versatile design allows it to function equally well as a dining table, kitchen table, large writing desk, or worktable.

The table remains in good antique condition with an authentic surface showing age-appropriate wear and a beautiful natural patina consistent with more than a century of careful use.

An elegant and highly functional example of French Provincial furniture that combines warmth, practicality, and timeless craftsmanship.
