Pair of Biedermeier Demi-Lune Tables in Cherrywood, circa 1820
An elegant and rare pair of original demi-lune tables from the Biedermeier period, crafted in beautifully figured cherrywood and dating to the early 19th century, circa 1820. These refined pieces embody the restrained elegance and superb craftsmanship characteristic of the Biedermeier aesthetic.
Each table features a graceful semi-circular top with a finely veneered cherrywood surface displaying a warm tone and attractive natural grain. The gently curved frieze is elegantly proportioned and supported by slender, tapering legs, creating a light and harmonious silhouette typical of the period.
The tables have been carefully restored and traditionally finished with a hand-applied shellac polish, enhancing the depth and natural beauty of the wood while preserving their historical authenticity.
Designed with both practicality and elegance in mind, the two demi-lune tables can be placed individually against a wall as refined console tables or combined to form a circular table, offering an additional dining solution when entertaining guests. The original joining mechanism for connecting the tables is included.
